All Scotch Whisky is made from these three simple ingredients.
Of course, you also need to add time to that list. (As an absolute minimum, Scotch whisky must have been distilled and matured for at least three years in Scotland).
The age statement shown on a bottle of whisky always refers to the minimum age of the liquids in the bottle. For example a blend containing whiskies aged 25, 12 and 3 years can only be called 3 Year Old Scotch Whisky.
There are three classifications of Scotch Whisky - Malt Scotch Whisky, Grain Scotch Whisky and Blended Scotch Whisky.
